What is the Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Fair??!! A destination for tens of thousands of history buffs and partygoers of all ages from all over Central Florida!

02200011Learning Activities – Visit the ‘Village of Shrewsbury’ where you will find dozens of costumed re-enactors engaged in a L1000114variety of occupations from 16th century England. This is a living history exhibit of life in a Renaissance Village. The re-enactors will answer your questions and engage children in fun hands-on activities including kid’s crafts, archery, sword challenges and more.

Entertainment – Outside of the Village of Shrewsbury, a host of over hundred volunteer performers donned in authentic 16th century costumes interact with fairgoers to entertain and amuse to bring the faire to life.

The professional musical and comedic entertainers are among the best in the country and our jousters are world champion professionals. DSC_0062  Many of our performers are sought after by Renaissance faires all up and down the East Coast but they tell us they love coming to Lady of the Lakes. Returning this year is the pirate stage and Pirate Cove, where fairegoers will feel that they have come face to face with the salty swindlers from the sea. Buried treasure can be found for those who stumble across the secret map. New this year is the Faerie Fantasy Forest where patrons are sprinkled with faerie dust.

Returning to the entertainment lineup this year are “Empty Hats”, “Washing Well Wenches”, “The DaVinci Brothers”, “Blackbeard the Pirate”, “Emrys Fleet”, “Raptus & Krane: Monster Hunters”, “Matilda’s Ladies” , “Psaltry Harpers”, the group “Celtic Mayhem”, the “Bawdy Boys” (a Celtic power trio with an Irish rock twist), “Johnny Phoenix”, and “Flight of the Rapture”.

Shopping – Dozens of vendors and merchants set up shop at the Faire. Each year, new artisans and merchants join the returning shopkeepers to offer Faire patrons an ever-changing variety of period attire, jewelry and other wares.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEating and Drinking –  is another avenue by which the Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire captures the spirit and authenticity of 16th century England. Culinary students from local high schools delight fairegoers’ palates with everything from traditional turkey legs to scotch eggs.

Beer, wine and mead will be served on the grounds, as well as in “Lord Edward’s Pub and Smoker”. This site will appeal to fairegoers who arrive ready to party like it’s 1599 and is accessible to patrons 18 years of age and up. Here, adults will be entertained by bawdier entertainment acts not typically seen at this otherwise family-friendly event including the “Bawdy Boys” and the “Washing Well Wenches”.
