Our 2021 dates:

Join us for Gunpowder & Treason on November 5, 6, 7, 13 & 14, 2021. Celebrating 20 years of history, romance, education, and merriment!

November 5th marks the one year Anniversary of the Gunpowder plot and Guy Fawkes’ attempt to blow up Parliament. To distract the King, he has been invited with his wife, Queen Anne of Denmark, to the Shire of Shrewsbury to enjoy the celebrations being provided to entertain the King, His Court, and the visiting Nobility at the annual Autumn Festival.

As conspiracies are common at Court, His Majesty’s men are attempting to ferret out other schemers. The Guards, led by Captain Malcolm Wolfe (Malcolm Paul Edward Michael Anthony Joseph Wolfe) accompanies the King and Nobility, protecting the peace, and carrying heavy objects (or people) when needed.

Save the King, Join the Adventure, and Win Prizes! Help Captain Wolfe by participating in the King’s Crusade Interactive Game, asking members of our cast for clues to solve the intrigue! Ask for more information at the House of the Three Sisters, located next to the O’Malley Stage. The sisters will explain the King’s Crusade Interactive Game and Award Prizes to those who participate, when your Crusade is completed.

Eat, Drink, & Discover!

More than 50 Artisans fill our Shire working in many different mediums. Come and walk amidst them practicing their talents and crafts in sculptures, swords, candle making, jewelry, pottery, leather work, and garb such as corsets, head covers, and kilts just to name a few!

With many faire favorites and plenty of ale you are sure to find enough flavorful fancies to feed the appetite of a King! Captivate your taste-buds with culinary creations and a host of faire favorites as you feast.

From musical anecdotes, side splitting comedy, and sword-crossed conquests – every seat is the best seat in the house! More than 100 performers in authentic 16th century costumes will welcome you.

You are sure to find something for everyone at the faire! With over 25 merchants selling unique garb, swords, and gifts that you’ll find no place else, you can take the fantasy home with you!

Our Past Playtrons:

Meet Aniza:

I began my Renaissance experience with the Florida Renaissance Festival back in 2010. I was immediately entranced by the atmosphere and the performers. I like to think my consistency has attributed to performers remembering me as I see them multiple times, but it could also be willingness to volunteer for things as well.

Meet Rebecca & Robert:

My husband and I have been frequenting Renaissance Faires since 2003. It is a great way to vacate our lives for a while. We pride ourselves on looking the part and feel if it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing. We’re so honored to be given the opportunity to be your Playtrons!

Volunteer with Us!

This is a large scale non-for-profit event benefiting the Lake County Education Foundation requiring hundreds of costumed cast members, administrative and support staff, set construction, ticketing, food services, production support, and so many others! Each year we look to fill over a hundred and fifty spots with enthusiastic individuals just like you who are interested in the renaissance faire, supporting their community and educators, or both! With so many roles available, please consider being a part of the this amazing event and joining in the fun!
