The Education Foundation of Lake County hosts a variety of engaging events throughout the year to support and enhance public education in the community. These events not only raise essential funds but also foster community involvement and celebrate the achievements of students and educators.
Friday, July 25 – Saturday, July 26, 2025
Six celebrities have been selected to entertain you on the ballroom floor in Lake County’s premiere event, Stepping Out for Education. This local version of Dancing with the Stars is coming to the Venetian Center on Friday, July 25, 2025 and Saturday, July 26, 2025. The evening will start off with an encore dance featuring the 2024 Mirror Ball winner, Dr. Terri Pfister Soos. Each of the six local celebrities and their pro partners will compete to be named top male and female by professional judges each evening. The overall 2025 Mirror Ball winner is decided by the combined audience votes.
Tickets for the 19th Annual Stepping Out For Education will be available soon! Our six local celebrity dancers are ready to WOW you as they will receive 20 hours of professional lessons to help raise money for the teachers and students in Lake County Schools.
Can’t make it to the event? We have had people ask us for another way to vote for their favorite local celebrity. In 2023 we introduced the Influencer Award. You can vote for you favorite local celebrity to earn this new award which will count separately from the Top Male, Top Female, and Overall Mirror Ball Winner. Each vote is $5 – keep an eye out for more information!

Each year, the Education Foundation celebrates the exceptional educators and school staff who continually give their best and apply their unique talents to ensure every student receives a high-quality education. Nominated teachers and staff go through an application and interview process to earn the coveted recognition. The selected teachers and staff are celebrated at the annual Celebration InspirED by Excellence.
