Apple-Mart: Stocking Classrooms, Fueling Futures

Apple-Mart is one of the most impactful ways we support local educators. Launched in 2005 by the Education Foundation of Lake County, this teacher resource store allows educators to shop completely free of charge for the supplies they need to create engaging, well-equipped classrooms.

  • Our stores are open every Wednesday after school.
  • Alternative shopping days will be available during certain pre-planning and teacher work days during the year (8/4, 10/12 and 3/5 from 9am – 12pm). 
  • Each teacher receives three shopping visits per semester (6 total for the year).
  • Family School Liaisons and School Social Workers have unlimited access to ensure students in need are never without basic supplies.

On average, each visit to Apple-Mart provides $155 worth of essential items—a powerful savings for our teachers and a direct investment in classroom success.

Apple-Mart runs entirely on community generosity—stocked through in-kind donations and operated by dedicated volunteers. Whether you’re a business, organization, or individual, your support helps ensure our teachers don’t have to dig into their own pockets to provide for their students.

Shopping Information for Teachers

Shopping at the free teacher resource store is easy! Teachers are welcome to THREE shopping trips per semester (6 for the school year).

Teachers MUST self-register first before shopping. You MUST use your @lake.k12.fl.us email address to be eligible, not a personal email.

  • There are no more Apple-Mart punch cards. Shopping trips are tracked in the new store software.
  • Be mindful of the store hours. Stores are open every Wednesday from 3:00 – 5:00pm. If LCS closes due to storms or other emergencies, the Apple-Mart store will also be closed.
  • You are probably going to leave with more than you can carry, and while we try to have bags for teachers to take, you should bring your own
    shopping bags to place items in when you shop.
  • Last shopping day of this school year is May 12, 2027.

To best serve teachers and students, any abuse of our shopping system will result in revocation of shopping privileges.

  • Apple-Mart is only open to LCS public school and conversion charter school teachers.
  • All items distributed via Apple-Mart or the Education Foundation of Lake County, Inc. are for LCS students and classroom use ONLY. Everything you
    take must be used for the benefit of your students.
  • Please have your LCS District School ID with you at the store.
  • Please refrain from cell phone use during check-in and check-out times.
  • All items are distributed in good faith, and are “as-is”.
  • Apple-Mart and the Education Foundation of Lake County, Inc. reserves the right to take photographs or video during shopping or other events. We have the right to use these photos and videos for marketing purposes without notice or permission. If you would like to NOT be photographed/filmed, please tell a staff member or volunteer.
  • We reserve the right to share any shopping information with your school administrator(s).
