ROBERT D. ‘SKIP’ CRAWFORD TAVARES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
All applicants for this scholarship must have attended all 3 Tavares Schools – K-12th Grade (Tavares Elementary, Tavares Middle and Tavares High). Applicant must have a 2.5 or higher GPA. The scholarship can be used for tuition, books and/or fees only.
AARONSTRONG PERSEVERANCE SCHOLARSHIP
The AaronStrong Foundation offers scholarships to students at East Ridge, Lake Minneola and South Lake High Schools. Scholarships are used towards a post secondary educational program by students who have successfully faced adversity while staying on track for graduation.
FRANK PAULHAMUS SCHOLARSHIP (LAKE SOIL & WATER)
$500 will be awarded to applicants who are students OR who are seeking to start a business in the agriculture or environmental-related field. Applicants must submit an application and a detailed narrative detailing your educational or career plans in the field.
EDMOND AMATEIS SCHOLARSHIP
The Edmond Amateis Foundation has scholarship funds, in the amount of $1,500, available for local students with financial need, as determined by income eligibility guidelines as established by USDA for reduced lunch.
SCOTT STRONG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
$2000 will be awarded to a graduate from Lake County Schools that plans to pursue higher education in a community college, university or trade school. Student must have a 2.5 or higher GPA and must be actively involved in the community. Scholarship can be used for tuition/books or fees.
MIKE STONE SCHOLARSHIP
A $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduate from Leesburg, Eustis, Tavares, or Mount Dora High School attending a community college or university. Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and submit documentation supporting community involvement. An essay must be included with application describing applicant’s volunteer activities and why he/she feels it is important to volunteer. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, or fees.
LINDA KOHLMEYER SCHOLARSHIP
$1000 will be awarded to a graduate from Leesburg or Tavares High School that plans to pursue higher education in a community college, university or trade school. Student must have a 2.5 or higher GPA and must be actively involved in the community. Scholarship can be used for tuition/books or fees.
LEHNER SCHOLARSHIP
Up to $5,000 will be awarded to a Tavares High School Graduate who has a 2.5 GPA or higher and has a financial need set by the USDA free or reduced lunch program. Application should include an 250-word essay and a photograph.
GOLDEN TRIANGLE EAGLES EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP
A $250 scholarship will be awarded to a high school graduate from Tavares, Mount Dora, or Eustis High School that plans to pursue higher education in a community college, university or trade school. Student must have a 2.5 or higher GPA and must be actively involved in the community. Scholarship can be used for tuition/books or fees.
TAMMY JERKINS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduate from Leesburg High School that plans to pursue higher education in a community college, university or trade school. Student must have a 2.5 or higher GPA and must be planning on majoring in education. Scholarship can be used for tuition/books or fees.
SAMUEL SHEPHERD CIVIL RIGHTS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating minority student, preferably African-American, enrolled in a Lake County, Florida public high school who desires to pursue a law degree. Scholarship will be divded equally between the fall and spring term. Must maintain a 2.7 GPA while in college to receive the second payment.
JERRY MILLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Leesburg High School that plans to pursue a career as a lineman at Lake-Sumter State College. Student must have a 2.5 or higher GPA and show proof of enrollment in the lineman program. Scholarship can be used for tuition/books or fees.
BILL HAYES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from a Lake County Public High School that plans to pursue a career in culinary arts. Student must have a 2.5 or higher GPA and show proof of enrollement in the culinary arts program. Scholarship can be used for tuition/books or fees.
LAKE – SUMTER SEMINOLE CLUB
This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted to attend Florida State University. Student must upload a copy of their acceptance letter.
Scholarships for Sumter County High School Graduates
LAKE SUMTER LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
Up to $4,000 will be awarded to students who attend Wildwood Middle High School and The Villages Charter High School. Applicants must have a 2.5 or higher GPA and submit documentation supporting community involvement. Scholarship can be used for tuition, books or fees.
LAKE – SUMTER SEMINOLE CLUB
This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted to attend Florida State University. Student must upload a copy of their acceptance letter
