The Education Foundation of Lake County is proud to celebrate the numerous educators and school leaders who contribute to the Lake County School District’s A grade.
“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.”
— Sydney J. Harris
Each year, the Education Foundation celebrates the exceptional educators and school staff who continually give their best and apply their unique talents to ensure every student receives a high-quality education. Nominated teachers and staff go through an application and interview process to earn the coveted recognition. The selected teachers and staff are celebrated at the annual Celebration InspirED by Excellence.
The dedication of teachers and staff helps make Lake County Schools an ‘A’ school district. Their commitment to creating supportive, high-quality learning environments ensures that all students have the opportunity to succeed and thrive—both in the classroom and beyond.

Nominees from each school are selected across three categories:
The Teacher of the Year award recognizes outstanding teachers who have been nominated by their school site for their dedication to the academic achievement of their students. The winner goes on to compete for Florida State Teacher of the Year honors, and potentially the national Teacher of the Year.
Rookie Teacher of the Year honors a teacher in their first three years of teaching who has made an outstanding impact in the classroom. Each school may nominate a new educator who demonstrates excellence, passion and promise in their work with students.
Instructional support staff help make sure students and schools have the care and services they need to stay safe and supported. The winner will go on to compete for the state — and possibly national — award.
