Refunds/Returns:

Under traditional circumstances, we do not issue refunds to donors. However, if a donor accidentally submitted a contribution twice or submitted the wrong amount or in error, please contact us to let us know the issue.

Discrimination Policy:

The Education Foundation of Lake County does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, genetic information, age, disability, or marital status in its educational programs, services, activities, hiring, or employment practices. The district also provides equal access to its facilities to the Boy Scouts and other patriotic youth groups, as required by the Boy Scouts of America Equal Access Act.

Code of Ethics:

Each director, officer, and staff member shall (1) conduct himself or herself in accordance with accepted professional standards of truthfulness, integrity, ethics, and good faith and in accordance with accepted principles of sound business management, fiduciary responsibility, and accounting procedures, (2) treat donors with fairness and respect, (3) use donations only for the donor’s intended purpose, (4) comply with all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations, (5) manage Foundation funds, accounts and property solely for the Foundation’s benefit, (6) comply with all Foundation policies, (7) maintain a public demeanor that reflects positively on the Foundation, and (8) keep in confidence all donor information and related documents obtained in the course of his or her service to the Foundation, unless disclosure of such information or documents furthers the Foundation’s interests or is required by law.

Conflict of Interest Policy:

Each director, officer, and staff member shall disclose to the Foundation’s Board of Directors or Executive Committee, as appropriate, every business relationship or financial transaction involving the Foundation whereby such director, officer or staff member can benefit financially from a decision he or she could make in such capacity, including indirect benefits such as to family members or businesses with which the person is closely associated.  A director or officer who stands to benefit financially from a matter before the Foundation’s Board of Directors for a vote may participate in the discussion of such matter and be counted toward quorum, but shall be prohibited from voting on such matter. As an additional safeguard, the Foundation shall utilize competitive bidding, or other objective measure, to avoid potential conflicts of interest and ensure all financial transactions serve the Foundation’s best interest.

For each visitor to our Website, our Web server automatically recognizes only the consumer’s IP address (where possible), but not the e-mail address.

We collect only the IP address, but not the e-mail address of visitors to our Web site, the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations, name and address, telephone number, fax number.

The information we collect is used to improve the content of our Website, used to notify consumers about updates to our Website, disclosed when legally required to do so, at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our Website and applicable laws or to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our Website.

With respect to cookies, we use them to store visitors’ preferences and record session information, such as items that consumers add to their shopping cart.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our Website to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses.

Upon request we provide site customers with access to transaction information (e.g., dates on which customers made purchases, amounts and types of purchases) that we maintain about them, communications that the consumer/client has directed to our site (e.g., e-mails, customer inquiries), contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number) that we maintain about them, and a description of information that we maintain about them.

Upon request we offer clients the ability to have inaccuracies corrected in contact information, financial information, unique identifiers, transaction information and communications that the consumer/visitor has directed to the site.

With respect to security, when we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information such as financial information, we redirect visitors to a secure server. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site.
