Golfer at Scott Strong Golf Tournament

The community is invited to participate in an annual golf tournament dedicated to raising money to help Lake County Schools’ students achieve their career dreams.

The Scott A. Strong Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, October 15, at Mission Inn Golf & Country Club, 10400 FL-48, in Howey-in-the-Hills.

Named in memory of former Lake County School Board member Scott Strong, the tournament raises money for the Scott Strong Memorial Scholarship fund which has helped 126 local students go to college or vocational school. Additionally, the golf tournament funds essential educational programs such as teacher recognition and grants for innovative teaching practices.

Since 2004, the tournament has raised over $1 million for Lake County schools and student. Last year’s event was canceled due to the pandemic. This year’s event is limited to 128 golfers.
