The annual Festival of Trees fundraiser, held at the Lake Square Mall, netted more than $1,000 to the Education Foundation of Lake County.

Mall representatives presented the check to Executive Director Carman Cullen at the January 26, 2021 school board meeting.

Area schools were invited to decorate Christmas trees which were displayed at the mall in early December. The public was invited to bid on the trees which they could then take to display at their home or office.

This past December, 29 schools participated with a total of 36 completed trees that went to the highest bidder.
