Lake and Sumter County public schools’ graduating seniors have a larger selection of scholarships to apply for when they visit the Education Foundation of Lake County’s online scholarship platform.

Students can apply for scholarships up to $5,000, including the Lehner Scholarship which is available to a Tavares High School graduating senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Other scholarships range from $500 to $1,500.

The Foundation’s AwardSpring Scholarship platform is open through March 12. Students can visit https://edfoundationlake.awardspring.com/ to review the 13 scholarships listed for eligibility and apply for as many as they’d like. Students will have to register in order to apply.

The number of scholarships available this year has increased after the Foundation invited area civic groups to manage their respective scholarship programs through AwardSpring, at no cost. The online platform allows the groups to promote their scholarships, receive applications, score them and distribute the awards.

Local civic groups are invited to email edfoundation@lake.k12.fl.us to learn more about managing their scholarship program on our platform.
