Take Stock in Children of Lake & Sumter Counties student Asia Lavender is one of six Leaders 4 Life (L4L) winners for the entire state. The L4L fellowship provides funds for housing, meal plans, computers, books, supplies, and all other college-related expenses, leadership training and internship opportunities.
L4L is a fellowship started by the Asofsky Family Foundation in cooperation with Take Stock in Children. The Asofsky Family Foundation started the L4L Fellowship because they believe that every child has the right to develop to their fullest potential regardless of socio-economic or family circumstances; and education is one of the most effective tools to create opportunities and break the cycle of poverty.
The L4L Fellowship breaks the cycle of financial insecurity through educational funding and support. L4L identifies exceptional, low income high school students with high motivation, leadership skills, moral character, and academic success. Students selected for L4L Fellowship enter with a tuition scholarship from Take Stock in Children and L4L provides additional financial and support resources to enable Fellows to reach their full potential.
